What craft sessions do you run?

EM-MAgination craft run sessions and creative experiences for the full spectrum of life, from the smallest newborn babies right up to the wonderful residents in Care Homes and every one in between!

First Footprints

These sessions are suitable from newborn until your little one begins crawling. We run sessions once a month and each session has a theme, such as Christmas or Easter!  You get to create 2 keepsakes: a canvas and another item which may include wooden plaques, door hanger or mug. We supply a range of letters, numbers and glittery bits to decorate your designs. It’s a 90 minute chilled session with time to cuddle, chat, feed and change as you need to.

Crafty Crawlers

This session is about your little one exploring the crafting materials, getting messy and enjoying new sensory experiences. The grown ups also get to create a canvas keepsake!

These sessions are suitable from when little ones are crawling until around 18 months.

Sessions run once a month and are themed.

IT GETS MESSY!!!!!!!! The session is 1 hour long, with 45 minutes of crafting followed by 15 minutes to clean up and change your little one whilst we have bubbles. You have time for feeding, snacks and cuddles before we finish with stickers!

Messy Makers

Messy Makers was the original sessions we started off with. This session is relaunching April 2024 to allow for more free exploration. Each session will have a craft along activity and then extra free play bases focussing on cutting, sticking, building, painting and mark making. This session is for children from 18 months up until starting school.

Family Craft

This session is for our Messy Makers and older children up to 8. These sessions are in the school holidays and sometimes at the weekend so that school age children can attend. They show sooooo much creativity, budding designers, inventors and artists of the future! We have 4 stations which typically have a mixture of mark making, building, cutting, sticking, painting as well as our collaborative creation which normally involves paint, mess and lots of giggles!

Craft-er School Club

Craft-er School Club runs on a Thursday evening with  up to 8 children per term! This is a drop off session. We know not everyone will come every term, but we welcome new faces and old faces returning to us. Those on the current term always get priority booking for the following term to ensure they get a space! Each term has a theme, and within that we explore lots of different creative experiences including clay, paint and junk modelling. We often work on a project over a few weeks of the term.

Adult Craft

A monthly craft session for adults. Time to chat, create and have fun with friends. These sessions stand alone and each session you will have the chance to create a specific craft. If you have a specific creative craft that you have fancied trying why not pop me a message. Want your own creative session with a group of friends or for a special event or birthday, give me a message and we can create a bespoke package to suit your needs!

Care Crafters

Our Care Crafter’s sessions see our creative sessions brought to residents in care settings or at home. Everything is provided from table coverings, ideas, examples, resources and support. It’s an hour to get creative! We then tidy up and take away all the mess meaning time isn’t taken by carers or activity coordinators! Feedback from my current settings is that as it’s a different face coming in, the residents see sessions as an “event!” I have been told they get many more residents join as they like to have a chat with a different face!

Parties and Events

We provide a range of packages to suit your needs, from small intimate craft parties for older children to your own session for your Crafty Crawler’s 1st Birthday. Got an event that you want some creative activities, pop me a message. Why not speak to me a bout Hen Party crafts, providing activities at a wedding or a christening or even a creative team building session in your workplace.

ICAP

EM-MAgination Craft has been awarded the highest quality assurance rating for our sessions. The “3 Gold Kite Mark” Quality Assurance rating is awarded by ICAP: Institute of Children’s Activity Providers.

This means when you book a sessions with us you know that you can trust the sessions are perfect for the age they are aimed at.

FAQ

Sessions can get messy. We suggest that you wear something that can get dirty. Our paint is washable and if washed with stain remover normally comes out but we can’t guarantee it will come out. If you are bringing a child to a session (especially Crafty Crawlers or Messy Makers) it might be worth bringing a flannel or towel to clean off your little one!

If you are still not sure what session is best to book after looking at our craft sessions above, please just pop me a message and we can discuss which session might be best.

Our sessions are at the Rees Centre and Wellbeing Hub (Family Hub) in Plympton. We can run a session at a venue of your choice if you book us for a private event and we come to you if you book a Care Crafters session.

There is a small carpark at the back of the Rees Centre which you are welcome to park in if there is space. There are lots of carparks all around the Rees Centre which are all free to park in for 3 hours (plenty of time for a session). Don’t forget to enter your number plate into the car park machine for your free virtual ticket.

Each party looks slightly different depending on your child’s age (we can do parties for adults too!) Pop me a message and let me know age, number of guests and what space you have and I can give you some ideas. Younger parties work well run very much like a Crafty Crawlers or Messy Makers session, and older children they work great around a dinning room table!

Yes! Just book them on the session as an “extra adult” ticket.

Yes! we have a sibling discount option for our Messy Makers and Family Craft Sessions. We ask that older siblings do not come to First Footprints and Crafty Crawlers as these sessions are set up specifically for that age group. Please do pop me a message if you want to chat about this. Younger siblings under 18 months come along with their older siblings for free.

There are toilets (including disabled) and baby changing. You can bring pushchairs into the centre and either leave them in the conservatory at the front or bring them into the session. There are chairs that you can feed little ones on and wait before/after the session. There are plenty of cafes and local businesses on the Ridgeway that do tea/coffee cakes or lunch after a session. Please feel free to bring a drink with you but please don’t bring hot drinks into sessions so our little ones stay safe.
